If you are dual-enrolled, you get 2 grades sent to Calvin University:
Coursework (3.0 credit hours):
- Reflect. Writing 30pts (6%)
- Quizzes 40pts (8%)
- Tests 300pts (59%)
- Exam 140pts (27%)
Labwork (1.0 credit hours):
- Lab Notebook 120pts (86%)
- Practicum 20pts (14%)
For your HCHS transcript:
- Labwork 140pts (21.5%)
- Quizzes 40pts (6%)
- Tests 300pts (46%)
- Reflect. Writing 30pts (5%)
- Exam 140pts (21.5%) or more
the exam % will replace your lowest test score if it is better
Labwork
- 7 experiments each worth 10pts, each with 5pt Prelab Quiz
- 2 activities (Exp 3: Modeling Kinetics & Spreadsheets) worth 15pts
- Practicum worth 20pts - you will be expected to read a buret, perform a titration (using Vernier pH probe) and analyze the titration curve.
Quizzes
- 4 quizzes each covering two chapters
- each quiz will have a problem from each chapter similar to End of Chapter Problems - 5pts for each problem
- NO notes are allowed

- 3 Tests each worth 100pts
- TEST 1 - Ch 11 - 14: Feb 27, 2025
- TEST 2 - Ch 15 - 17a: April 3, 2025
- TEST 3 - Ch 17b,18,19: May 6, 2025
Exam

- ACS (American Chemical Society) college-level test
- 70 multiple choice - 110 min
- each worth 2pts
Reflection Writing - upload by 3pm Thurs May 15, 2025
- 5pts for quality & being on time for each of the 3 initial writings, 15pts for final writing
- Using the Reflection Writing experiences, turn in a final reflective paper - 10 or 12pt font
- Cover your reflections of: God's Power, Patterns in Nature, and Creation's Potential
- Refer to at least 3 college chemistry topics in each section using the prompt given.
