You are all experts at what goes on in a high school classroom: you've been in many of them, some good, some not so good. Before we set out on this last semester of your sophomore year, I want you each to think seriously about what a truly great class's climate consist of. In other words, what principles underlie a truly great classroom?  I have a hunch, having taught for a while, but today I want to hear from you. So, on the blue card I've given you, I want you reflect on and list the 5 key principles of an effective, engaging, classroom? What has to be present in order for it to be a class you really want to come to?   After you've completed your list, I will have you get into groups and compile your collective list of five. Then, we will try to reach an agreement as a class.
