  WELCOME TO BIOLOGY B!
  

  Biology is an exciting field with many issues you will deal with in your lifetime. Genetic engineering and gene therapy, beginning and end of life care, environmental pollution and climate change, medical advances and emerging diseases, population growth/changes… These are just some of the areas that bring us fascinating concepts and serious ethical questions. Last semester you focused on the the human body and tiny details of cells and DNA. We continue to focus on the ideas of awe and stewardship from Psalm 8 and this semester we zoom out a bit more to see how those materials from Biology A control organisms, populations and their environment. I pray you discover a greater awe of the Creator as I continue to do and also learn how to struggle with the questions of biology using the Word as your guide.

  • Field study work is not accepted late
  • Only one field study visit may be done in the dark.  Pictures must still show things.

  Assignment:

  1. Read/Review Genesis 1-3
  2. Student Resources #3 and 4 -- Be sure you are annotating your reading!
  3. Field Study #4 due at 5pm next Monday.  PLEASE SEE ME IN PERSON WITH ANY FIELD STUDY QUESTIONS!  NO FIELD STUDIES ACCEPTED LATE.

  1. The reading only for Activity #3 of the Creation Reflection Document (don't write your opinions yet but definitely mark it up -- notes, highlighting, etc.) so we're ready to ask Mr. Russ questions.
  2. Creation Reflection Activity #6 
  3. Be sure you will have Activity #5 (parent/mentor interview) finished BEFORE FRIDAY unless you've checked in with me.

  Assignment: 

  1. All you should have left to write on Monday is your discussion of Activity #3 (the reading for it should already be done!!).  You will have 30 minutes.  Be sure you have looked over the Creation Reflection Grading Rubric and double checked your work.
  2. Print your Creation Reflection Questions in the Hand in format for Creation Reflections and bring it to class with you.  You will write your Activity #3 response by hand in class on Monday/Tuesday.
  3. BE SURE YOU BRING YOUR MARKED UP READINGS WITH YOU.  THEY WILL BE COLLECTED WITH THE ACTIVITY QUESTIONS!
